right before you asking them the questions, you might have to use these sentences :

저기요.
jeo-gi-yo
excuse me
and then ask wheher they know how to speak english or nahh,

Yeong-eo-reul ha-shil jul a-se-yo?
can you speak english ?

if they say yes , then you can just speak english with them.

*they will say something like this*

Ne, hal-su iss-eo-yo
Yes, i can speak

if their answer is no, you have no choice, either leave or ask them in korean.

*they will say something like this*

Mi-an-hae-yo, jeon yeong-o-ruel mot-hae-yo
Sorry, i couldnt speak english

< 1ST SITUATION : ASKING DIRECTION >

*bare in mind, in korean, the place name will always be the first word to say.*

_______ 어디 있어요?
_______ oe-di iss-eo-yo?
Where is _______?
or

_______어떻게 가요?
_______eo-ddeoh-ge ga-yo?
How do I get to_______?

here’s the examples, for a better vision on how to use it :

강남역 어디 있어요?
Gang-nam-yeok oe-di iss-eo-yo?
Where is Gangnam Station?

Hong-dae oe-di iss-eo-yo?
Where is Hongdae?

Hwa-jang-shil eo-di iss-eo-yo?
Where is the restroom?

Ho-tel-e eo-ddeoh-ge ga-neun-ji jom all-yeo-ju-shi-gess-eo-yo?
How do I get to the hotel please?

< 2ND SITUATION : LOOKING FOR NEAREST PLACE >

*가까운= ga-gga-oen = nearest*

Je-il ga-gga-oen _______ eo-di iss-eo-yo?
Where is the nearest _______?

for examples :

Je-il ga-gga-oen ji-ha-cheol-yeok eo-di iss-eo-yo?
Where is the nearest subway station?

after you asking the questions as shown above, the person will answer as simple as:

쭉 가시면 홍대역이 나올거에요.
Jjook ga-shi-myeon hong-dae-yeok-ee na-uel-go-ae-yo.
If you go straight, Hongdae Station will appear.

Ge-gi-ae-so oo-hwae-jeon ha-seyo.
Turn right there.

Jik-jin-ha-shi-myeon oo-chae-gook-ee go-deung-hak-gyo geon-neo-pyeon-ae iss-eo-yo.
Walk straight and you’ll see the post office across from the high school.

Cheot sa-geo-ri-ae-so jwa-hwe-jeon han-beon do ha-se-yo.
Then turn left once again at the first intersection.

Nam-san-ta-wo bang-hyang-eu-ro ga-shyeo-seo doo-beon-jje shin-ho-deung-ae-so jwa-hwe-jeon ha-se-yo.
Go in the direction of the Namsan Tower, then turn left at the second traffic light.

In the worst case, the person that you are asking is also not be familiar with the area. They may say something like:

죄송하지만, 저도 몰라요.
Jwe-song-ha-ji-man, jeo-do mol-la-yo.
I’m sorry, but I don’t know either.

if you wanted to ask them to sketch a map for you:

지도 = map

Ji-do geu-ryeo ju-shil soo iss-eo-yo?
Can you draw me a map?

if you get lost, you can simply pull a map and ask someone:

여기 어디예요?
Yeo-gi eo-di-ye-yo?
Where am I?

here are the list of the crucial points that you need to pay attention whenever the speaker says :

좌회전 = turn left = jwahwaejeon

우회전 = turn right = oohhwaejeon

직진 = go straight = jikjin

쭉 = straight = jjook

근처에 = nearby = geunchuhae

에서 = at = aeso

옆에 = next to = yeopae

다음 = next = daeum

지나서 = pass by = jinasuh

사거리 = intersection = saguhri

신호등 = traffic light = shinhodeung

방향 = direction = banghyang

반대쪽 = opposite = bandaejjok

층 = floor = cheung

건너편 = across = geonnuhpyun

길 = road and street = gil

it has been months since im blogging. i tried so hard to catching up with my hectic life. Currently im in final year of my Degree's studies, so pretty much you can estimate & see how my life works. As far as i concerned, i just can't coped well with this one particular subject. i have been having troubles with its assignments since my Foundation. The subject was Design in Architecture. im telling you, this subject is utterly difficult for me to understand and working on it since im not that creative enough to explore and think out of the box, with very short-period of time. feeling like wanted to quit, somehow.
